CERIS is governed by a volunteer Management Board with representation from community, academic, and government stakeholders in migration and settlement. The primary responsibility of the Management Board is to establish and monitor CERIS’s vision, mission, guiding principles, and strategic goals.

We currently have 5 Member-at-Large vacancies on our Management Board and are seeking applications to fill these vacancies. Each position is for a three-year term, commencing in January 2019 and ending in December 2021.

Required Credentials

  1. A commitment to the mission of CERIS;
  2. Knowledge, connections, and skills in a substantive research, policy, or service area, and at least one of these management areas: Board Governance, Strategic Planning, Fundraising, and Media/Public Relations;
  3. A commitment to regularly attend and participate in discussions at Board Meetings (4 times a year, 2 hours each);
  4. A willingness to contribute an additional 5 hours a month to a committee or task group, or other Board-related volunteer work.

The Board is particularly interested in candidates representing organizations that are active in the Greater Toronto Area, have a broad reach or interest in immigrant settlement (but do not need to be immigration- or settlement-specific), and can contribute unique expertise and connections to CERIS.

Interested individuals may submit their candidacy by completing the application form and submitting it by Monday November 19, 2018 to:
