NATIONAL CALL FOR INFORMATION :
On Non-Profit Services for Immigrant Women, Youth, and Seniors
March 14, 2018 — Toronto. CERIS, a university–community–government partnership bridging migration research, policy, and practice, is leading a research project on three immigrant groups with special settlement needs in Canada. Titled “Immigrant Women, Youth, and Seniors” (IWYS) and funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the two-year project involves researchers from Ryerson University, University of Toronto, and York University with guidance from a national advisory board and in partnership with the Toronto Newcomer Office, Human Endeavour, Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants, Ryerson Centre for Immigration and Settlement, and St. Stephen’s Community House. It aims to review existing research on and services for the three groups in Phase 1, and to conduct primary research and propose strategies for service innovation in Phase 2.
CERIS invites service providers across the country to submit information on non-profit services they currently provide specifically to immigrant women, youth, and seniors. We are particularly interested in the sources of government/non-government funding and other in-kind/voluntary contributions; areas of service; and eligibility for and outcomes of service. By responding to this call, service providers can help us identify strengths and gaps, address unmet needs, and ultimately propose programming improvements based on good practices in serving the three newcomer groups. The information collected under this call will be used only in aggregate form unless it refers to good practices.
If your organization has a service in place that directly targets any of these three newcomer groups, please fill in the online form at :
https://ceris.ca/iwys-service-review-survey/ no later than May 9, 2018.
It is quite possible that your organization has more than one relevant service. If so, you may fill in as many forms as applicable.
